Townvite

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Townvite is a small, invite-only app for making plans with people you know. This page says what it keeps about you, who can see it and what you can do about it. I have tried to write it in plain words.

Who is responsible: Rishad Akhundov, who makes and runs Townvite (“I”). You can reach me at [email protected].

The short version

What Townvite keeps

Your account

Your email address and a password. The password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form by the sign-in service; I cannot read it. Your name, and the date you joined.

Your profile

What you add yourself: short lines about you, interests and tags, your profile picture, your “window” picture, and who may see each part (everyone you have met, only people you choose, or no one).

Plans and messages

Plans you send (“knocks”) with their title, details, place and time; who was invited and how each person answered; chat messages and pictures inside plans; groups you create (manors) and groups that form when people go somewhere together (tents); help requests and replies; and the invites you make.

Safety information

People you block, and reports you make or that are made about you. Reports name the people involved so I can act on them, and I read them myself.

Technical information

When the app talks to the server, the hosting provider sees your internet address and the time, as any website does. I use this only to keep the service working and safe.

What stays on your phone only

Reminders about your plans are scheduled on your phone and never sent to a server. Settings such as which reminders you want are stored on your phone.

What Townvite does not collect

Your location, your contacts, your photo library (you pick single pictures yourself, and the camera is used only when you choose to take a profile picture), advertising identifiers, or analytics about how you use the app. Townvite does not track you across other apps or websites.

Who can see it

Only members of your town, and only what your visibility choices allow. Blocking someone removes you from each other’s view completely. I, as the person who runs the service, can access the data when I need to keep the service working, deal with a report or help you with a question; I do not browse it for other reasons.

Who helps run Townvite

I use a few companies to run the service. They handle information only for this purpose:

Some of these companies are based outside the European Union. They act on my behalf under their own data protection terms, which include the safeguards the law requires for such transfers.

How long it is kept

Your choices and rights

Why I use your information

To run the app you asked to use: to create your account, show you to people you chose, deliver plans and chats and send the emails you ask for. Where the law needs a legal basis, that is performing our agreement (these terms) and my legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and free of abuse.

Security

Information travels over encrypted connections, and the database refuses requests from people who are not allowed to see something. No service can promise perfect security, and I would tell you promptly if something went wrong that affects you.

Children

Townvite is for people aged 16 and over. I do not knowingly keep information about anyone younger; if you think a child has joined, tell me and I will remove the account.

Changes

If I change this page in a way that matters, I will say so in the app. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
