How it works

Making a plan takes seconds, and so does finding out who is in.

The New knock screen in Townvite: a plan called Walk by the river on Sunday, with a place, a time and six people to send it to

1Knock

Send a plan to a few friends, a group you keep, or your whole town.

A friend's view of the plan, with the buttons I'm in, Other time and Can't make it, and a chat for the plan

2Meet

They say yes or no. Say yes, and a chat opens for the plan. Then you go.

The Knocks page: the plan shows 3 of 5 are in, with a list of who said yes and no

3See who's in

The answers come back in one place. No chasing, no scrolling back through a chat.

Your town grows around the people you meet

Every friend is a house. The more you do together, the closer to the tower they stand, and every week the map rearranges around your real life. A few words to know:

Town

The people you actually meet, drawn as a little pixel town. The more you do together, the closer they stand.

Knock

A plan you send to a few people. They say yes or no.

Manor

A group you keep, like your regular crew.

Tent

A group that forms when people go somewhere together, and packs up when it goes quiet.

Window

The one picture a person shows from their house.

Ask your town

Ask for a hand or a favour, once, with no rush.

Made to stay small

Townvite is built to get you off the phone and into the same room.

  • No feedThere is nothing to scroll and nothing to refresh.
  • No followers, no likesYou are not performing for anyone.

Knock to get in

Townvite grows one group of friends at a time. Answer one question and we will let you know if there is a place for you. Every answer is read by a person.

Questions

How do I join?

Townvite is invite-only. Someone already in the app sends you an invite link, or gives you a code. That is how every town grows: through friends of friends. If you do not know anyone yet, knock to get in: tell us who you would meet, and a person reads it.

Is it only for iPhone?

It starts on iPhone.

Who makes it?

Townvite is made by Rishad Akhundov, starting with his own friends and their friends.

What happens to my information?

There are no ads and no tracking. You can download everything the app holds about you, or delete your account for good, inside the app. Read the privacy policy.

Can I leave?

Yes. Delete your account in the app and your profile, pictures, plans and chats are removed.
